Prasadam: SOOJI HALWA 


              

Ingredients:                    1. Love for Govinda

                                     2. Sooji (Rava)

                                     3. Sugar

                                     4. Cashew nuts

                                     5. Cardamoms

                                     6. Dried grapes

                                 7. Ghee

                                 8. Milk 

Quantities (For 15 persons):     

                                      ½ kg of sooji (rava)

                                     ½ litre of milk

                                     ½ kg of sugar

                                     10 Cashew nuts

                                     5 Cardamoms

                                     20 dried grapes

                                     100 gms of ghee                                                        

Procedure:             

                    Fry sooji in a small quantity of ghee to reddish brown and keep it aside. Fry cashew nuts, dried grapes in the same way and keep them aside. Add water to milk so that the total volume is 2 ½ times the volume of sooji and boil it. Take it aside and add sooji to it mixing it continuously. Heat again on low flame. When it becomes thick, take it off the flame and keep it aside for 5 minutes. Then add sugar, fried nuts, cardamom powder and ghee and heat it again on low flame for 5 minutes.
