Coconut Rice Prasadam (by Sreerangasayi, Hyderabad)

Ingredients

    • Love for govinda
    • Rice - 1 cup
    • Freshly grated coconut - 1 cup
    • Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
    • Split Black Gram  - 2 tbsp
    • Red chillies – 2
    • Green chillies - 2 ( slit vertically )
    • Curry leaves – few
    • Asafetida - ½ tsp
    • Oil - 2 tbsp
    • Salt to taste

Method: 

  1. Cook rice & cool the same.
  2. Heat oil in a pan, temper mustard seeds, red chillies & add split black gram.
  3. Fry till light brown, add green chillies, asafetida, coconut & curry leaves. Fry uniformly for a minute.
  4. Remove from heat, add cooled rice & salt. Mix well.
