Chow Chow (Bengaluru Vankaya, brinjal) curry

Ingredients:
Love for Go:vinda
channa (split bengal gram) Dal (1/4 sppon)
Urad (White Split Gram Bean Dal) (1/4 spoon)
Mustard seeds (1/4 spoon)
Jeera (Cumin Seeds) (1/4 spoon)
green chillies (3 small)
Chow chow cut into small pieces
ingua (asofotedia)
Procedure:
First wash the pieces and place them in a microwavable dish. Close the dish with a microwavable cover.
Donot pour any water into it. Water that remains from washing the veggie, is sufficient.
Keep the dish in the microwave for about 5 minutes (US microwaves) or until the time the pieces get cooked. It should be soft.
This curry does not require much oil at all. So take very little oil (about a spoon) - just enough for roasting the dal-ingredients.
Put the items in the following order. Mustard. Then Jeera (Cumin Seeds), chenna dal, Urad (White Split Gram Bean Dal), green chillies, ingua. Let it roast.
Then add the chow chow pieces.
Do not roast the chow chow pieces. As the veggie is already cooked, you will only need to saute it for a while with salt.
You can sprinkle some water to make it cook better in the pan. |
