Sri: Ve:nkate:swara Saranagathi deeksha and Sri: Go:da Kalya:nam celebrations in Chicago IL on 11th Jan 2008.

Chicago IL - Prajna Study Group met on Friday 11th of Jan 2008 and celebrated Ve:nkate:swara Sarana:gathi Deeksha and Go:da Kalyana Maho:thsavam. All members were taught the basics of Thirumanthrarthham and collectively performed Likhita Japam (meditation in writing format). The class went on for a couple of hours. Over seventy devotees have signed up for Ashta:kshari Japam and do perform thadeeya:ra:dhana once a month using the 'ashta:kshari-biyyam' (biyyam=rice). The classes are being conducted with blessings of HH Sri: Sri: Sri: Chinna Jeeyar Swa:miji.

Following the manthra:rthham class, all the devotees were initiated in the process of doing kalya:nam and were explained on the importance of Thiru-kalya:nam and why we celebrate it. The classes were done in Schaumburg.
