Saranya Charities

The trust by name Saranya Charities founded and lead by His Holiness Thridandi SriRanga Ra:ma:nuja Jeeyar Swa:miji has been providing an unparallel service to the leprosy patients of Vimukthi Rehabilitation Center, Ka:kinada, Andhra Pradesh, India.

The rehabilitation center was established with ideal motives a few years ago. Several constraints of different types reduced some of the inmates of the center to mere street beggars in course of time, and most of such people are in very bad condition with their vital parts of the body eaten away by the disease of leprosy.

His Holiness Thridandi SriRanga Ra:ma:nuja Jeeyar Swa:miji happened to visit the center in September 2000. His heart was moved by their pitiable condition and immediately founded the trust called Saranya Charities to lend a helping hand to the members of the Leprosy Center and now the trust is providing food to about 50 people everyday, both lunch and dinner.

A school for the orphan children of leprosy patients was established later which consists of 100 children. Saranya Charities is now providing them food everyday. However, the expenses on these two charitable activities is Rs.1500/- per day. The monthly expenditure is hitting almost Rs 50,000/- and the members of Saranya Charities are trying hard to gather donors for this noble program. An amount of Rs.10, 000/- donated will be helpful to feed the beneficiaries for at least one week and the name of the donor shall be announced at the time of serving food invoking the blessings of God.
