Celebration of the descent of Sri: Ponnadikka:l jeeyar sva:mi :

By the sweet orders and blessings of Sri Paramahamse:thya:di Sri: Kaliyan va:nama:malai ra:ma:nuja ji:yar sva:mi , Triplicane (Thiruvallike:Ni) Va:nama:malai Mutt celebrated the 623rd year of desent of Sri: ponnadikka:l Jeeyar sva:mi  , the foremost of the ashtadikgaja:s appointed by Sva:mi Manava:La Ma:munikaL and the first Jeeyar of Sri: VAnamAmalai Monastery. The grand sequence of festivals  were celebrated between 25-9-2007 and 4-10-2007. ( purattAsi month 8 to 17) . Many devotees , disciples and sri:vaishnavas thronged the monastery on all days and obtained the grace of Sri: Jeeyar svAmi and Lord Aranganagarappan.
There were lectures on all days from 25-9-2007 till 3-10-2007 on "Srivaishnava OraanVazhi Guruparampara prabhavam"(The glory of Lineage of preceptors In Sri:vaishnavism"

On the 4th , the day of celebration of the holy birth anniversary of sva:mi, the holy worshipping ritual of Thiruva:ra:dhanam was done to Sri: ponnadikka:l jeeyar svami. This was followed by a very vibrant and wonderous recital of Divya prabhandams by the elite scholars of Triplicane. The holy food was served to all devotees who gathered in the monastery in large numbers. In the evening , a musical concert was performed . This was followed by a procession of sva:mi and the "swing festival". The entire festival was a great moment to cherish for the devotees and disciples of the monastery.
