The Thirunangu:r eleven Garudas Festival

The Thirunangu:r Eleven Garudas Festival committee invites you all to be part of the 11 garuda service festival schedulded from 7th -9th February, 2008 to be held at Thirunangur, the respleden gem among the divyade:sams of cho:la domain.

The Manjalkuli Festival, which is taking place right from the life time of Sri: Thirumangai A:zhwa:r, which is sublime and without a parlance in our spiritual history, was gifted to Sri: Thirumangai A:zhwa:r by Lord Rangana:tha of Sri:rangam for conducting the adhyayana uthsavam (Thamizh festival - Thiruvaimo:zhi thirunaal) at Sri:rangam. This year it falls on Thursday (7th February).

The mangalasa:sanam of all the 11 deities of Thirunangur Divyade:sa by Sri: Thirumangai A:zhwa:r falls on the noon of 8th February(friday) followed in the evening by the 11 Garuda sevai which is taking place for the 114th consecutive time.

We invite you to come, witness this unique festival and behold the divinity in all its glory, splendour, experience and spiritual ecstacy which words fail to explain.

A:zhwa:r starts from Thirunagari for Mangala:sa:sanam at the following Divya De.sas

  1. Thirukkuraiyalu:r
  2. Thirumangaimadam
  3. Thirukavalamabadi
  4. Thirumanikoodam
  5. Thirupparthanpalli
12:00 AM
A:zhwa:r recahes Manjakuli mandapam followed by A:zhwa:r's mangala:sasanam to Thirunaraiyur nambi (A:cha:ryan of Sri: Thirumangai A:zhwa:r) and Azhagi:ya Manava:lan of Sri:rangam.
6:00PM
A:zhwa:r enters Thirunagur for mangala:sa:sanam at the following shrines. Manimaadakkoil (Sri: Na:ra:yana Peruma:l) vaikuntta vinnagaram (Sri: Vaikunttana:thar), sembonsei koil (Sri: Sembonnarangar), Thiruthethriyambalam (Sri: Pallaikonda Peruma:l) , and Armeya Vinnagaram (Kudamaadu Koothar)

12:00 Noon
All the eleven Emberuma:n gather at the pandal before Sri: Manimadakko:il followed by A:zhwa:r's mangala:sa:sanam.
10:30 PM
11 Garuda Se:va - grand processio of all the 11 Emberuma:n on garuda va:hana, Sri: Thirumangai A:zhwa:r in Hamsa va:hana and accompained by Sri: Manava:la round the streets of Thirunangur.
9th February 2008, Saturday
11:00AM
A:zhwa:r starts from thirunangur at 11:00 AM back to Thirunagari. Enroute A:zhwa:r does mangala:sa.sanam and then reaches A:stha:nam.
