(4) Swa:mi Thirumazhisai A:zhwa:r-- In the 857489th year of Dwa:para Yuga i.e. Vibhava year, Pushya month, Krishna paksha Dasami, Thursday and Makha nakshathram, in the town of ‘Tirumazhisai’ in the Thonda manda:lam, Sri: Tirumazhisai Azhwa:r was born to Sri:mathi Kanaka:ngi and Sri: Bha:rgava rushi couple and was brought up by Haridas. This A:zhwa:r had been an ascetic and master in Yo:ga vidyA. He had travelled throughout the world for 2306 years, criticized all different schools of philosophy and finally came to Sri: Vaishnavam. He graced Divya Prabandhas such as “Na:nmugan Thiruvanda:di” and “Thiruchchanda viruththam”.
