(5) Swa:mi Namma:zhwa:r-- He was born in a town called “Tirukurugoor”, on the banks of the Tha:mraparni river in the Pa:ndya region in Prama:di year, Vaisa:kha month, Sukla Chathurdasi, Visa:kha nakshathram, Karka:taka Lagnam (i.e. 43rd day of Kaliyuga). He was born as a boon from Sri: Tirukkurungudi Nambi Peruma:l in the divine lineage of greath devotees, as a grand son of “Sanda:maraikannan”, as a child of “Kari” and “Udayanangaya:r”. Lord Vishwakse:na himself granted divine panchasamska:rams to Swa:mi Namma:zhwa:r. He is the epitome of Parabhakthi, Parajna:na and Paramabhakthi. He graced four divine scriptures--Thiruviruththam, Thiruva:siriyam, Periya Tiruvanda:di and the magnum opus Tiruva:ymo:zhi, while gracing Sri: Madhurakavi A:zhwa:r. These works are renowned as Dravida Vedas and the works of other a:zhwa:rs as their subsections. Hence Sri: Namma:zhwa:r has become the embodiment of all the remaining Azhwa:rs.
