Cd release of the great thiruppavai connoisseur - Sri P.B.A.swami. Date : 9.12.2007 Time : 4 pm , Sriperumbudur
History has repeated itself! Only this time,the mode has changed.The elders of our Srivaishnava community who had feasted on the mellifluous voice of Maha:vidwa:n Sri: U.Ve.Prathiva:di Bhayankaram Annangara:cha:ryar swami in their youth were put through the same experience, transfixing them in nostalgia at Sri Paraka:la Ramanuja Emba:r Jeeyar Mutt,Sri:perumbu:du:r, where his thiruppa:vai CD was released. Sri Kanchi P.B.A swami Trust (run by his family members,well wishers and disciples),which has spearheaded the task of resurrecting Annangaracha:ryar swami's books, has now ventured to bring back his majestic voice and make it eternal employing the medium of CDs. The CD set consisting of 4 CDs was released by His Holiness Sri Paraka:la Ramanuja Emba:r Jeeyar swami during 'Tirumal Adiyar Kuzham ' upanyasa function .( Note: ' Tirumal Adiyar Kuzham' is run by H.H .Sri Embar Jeeyar swami to protect the kalakshepa tradition of our Srivaishnava sampradayam.The Cd launch coincided with this function making the former still grand !).Sri Tirumalirumcholai Azhagar ,an ardent devotee of P.B.A swami and a donor of Sri Kanchi P.B.A swami trust, received the first copy.Discourses were rendered by Sri U.Ve.P.B.Rajahamsam swami,Sri.U.Ve.Appan swami(thirukkumarar of present swami) & Sri.U.Ve.K.B.Devarajan swami on azhwa:rs and acha:ryas. When asked what prompted the Trust to hold the function at Sriperumbudur, a member pointed out the unique relationship between Sri Godha Nacciar (Anda:l) & Sri Ramanujacharya , the former considering the latter as her own "elder brother".Truly,a great occasion to cherish not only for us but for the Parama:cha:rya Sva:mi Ra:ma:nuja Himself ! The Trust has planned to release the CD for public sale on 23rd December '07(Sunday) at Sri: Va:nama:malai Mutt. It is also releasing Godhasthuthi(with commentary), AbhinavaGodhaSthuthi etc. of Annangara:charyar swamy on the same day. Price of thiruppavai cds : 2set consisting 2CDs each is Rs.400. Only 100 copies are available for public sale.... so obtain a set for you immediately!!
